The gift for that hard to shop for person can be made simple

Hard to shop for people

Hard to shop for people don’t have to be difficult

Maybe you need help on finding the right gift

Is there a overused theme for their gifts?

If your friend who likes light houses now has a house filled with light houses… they may be hard to shop for and you definitely need a new idea! Start thinking outside the light house box! This tells me 2 things… this person is hard to shop for and they don’t need things.

How about an unconventional present?

Would a donation to their favorite charity in their name be a better idea? You can present with a card that tells them of this donation. Do some careful fishing to find out what is their favorite charity. If you choose a great charity… they are most likely going to like it.

Maybe a gag gift would be just the thing. Not everyone appreciates these, so make sure this would not be a mistake.

Give the gift of YOURSELF. Maybe you have not visited them in a very long time. The best present might be a visit (that does not collide with their celebration plans). You could even send them tickets to come visit you. If this is too costly right now… maybe a videochat would be appreciated.

Maybe there is something that you create that they love and would enjoy getting this year. This could be a favorite dish or desert, or artistic item for instance. Again, you can give a card… one that says you will bake this dish for them at a time of their choosing outside of their celebration event that probably has food and cake…

Do they love snacks? Maybe there is something in that category that they have not tried, that you know they would enjoy. A snack that is an interesting twist on what they usually get might be fun for them too. I have found some new ones that I love because someone did that for me. I also have a food bucket list. Vegemite was not a hit for me, but I am glad that I got to try it. I got to try macarons and I really enjoy them.

There is also a possibility of getting them into something they have longed for, but not done for themselves. Maybe they would really love cooking classes that fit into their schedule, guitar lessons, dance lessons… You might just be the person who opens a door to joy that they don’t get around to doing for themselves.

Maybe a tech item…

Do they like tech, but are not quite comfortable with it? Maybe they enjoy fun gadgets, but could use a little help in finding them. There are gifts here that are fun for those that are not comfortable with tech, as well as for those who are good with these items.

Most people have a kitchen…

Could they need items for their kitchen? Even if they have what they need there, maybe they can use something fun that is in this category…

Do they enjoy seeing wildlife coming to visit their yard?

Do they love seeing hummingbirds and butterflies? Maybe a plant they can add to their landscape that attracts these would remind them of your kind gift while bringing them joy in their life… There are also feeders for hummingbirds and butterflies here as well…

I have quail locally and enjoy their calls and the possibility of seeing them

An animal that gets hunted could also be passing through the neighbors yards

I put out a salt block out for the deer. My neighbor started talking about shooting the deer that he saw newly coming around. I got rid of that block in short order. You do not want to have something out for them that they become dependent on and then take it away. Luckily this happened quickly. It was not something I thought of dealing with, and so maybe my experience can prevent a problem for you.

Plants that can add enjoyment for their yard

Would they enjoy an orchard tree (fruit/nut)? Another possibility is a berry vine or flowering vine.
